Santo Nino Basilica
The Minor Basilica of the Holy Child (Spanish: Basílica Menor del Santo Niño; Italian: Basilica Minore del Santo Bambino) is aminor basilica in Cebu City in the Philippines that was founded in the 16th century. It is the oldest Roman Catholic churchestablished in the country, purportedly built on the spot where the image of the Santo Niño de Cebú, a statue depicting the HolyChild Jesus was found in 1565 by Spanish explorers led by Miguel Lopez de Legazpi. The image is the same statue given byFerdinand Magellan to the wife of Rajah Humabon as a gift over forty years before after Humabon's baptism to Christianity on April 14, 1521. It was found by a soldier preserved in a burnt wooden box after Legazpi razed the village of hostile natives.
Taoist Temple
Built in 1972, the Cebu Taoist Temple is located in Beverly Hills

With an elevation of 300 meters above sea level, the temple is a towering, multi-tiered, multi-hued attraction accessible by three separate winding routes.Taoist temple is open to the worshipers and non-worshipers alike. A ritual among devotees is where one prays to the gods to grant one's wish. The ritual includes washing of hands, going inside the chapel barefoot and dropping two blocks of wood. If the blocks of wood are both face up then one could make a wish. If not then it is not yet the time for one's wish to be granted and one has to come to the temple some other time.
Casa Gorordo Museum
The Casa Gorordo Museum was originally a house built in the mid-19th century by Alejandro Reynes Y Rosales and bought by Juan Isidro de Gorordo, a Spanish merchant, in 1863. Four generations of the Gorordo family lived in this house, including Juan Gorordo, the first Filipino bishop of Cebu in 1910-1932. Acquired in 1980 by the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. the house was restored and later opened as public museum. The Casa Gorordo Museum has been declared a national historical landmark by virtue of national historical institute board resolution no. 4 dated September 24, 1991.
One of the three remaining old houses that dates back to the Spanish colonial period in the Pari-an district of Cebu, the Casa Gorordo is a lifestyle museum that features altar pieces, antique furnishings, paintings and relics that gives the guests a glimpse of the era that they haven’t seen.
The lower floor of the Casa Gorordo Museum traditionally served as storage space. It now houses the offices of the museum, an area for the art exhibitions and a small store. The house is built using the massive and tough coral stones, which most century-old establishments are built from. It has a roof made from tisa clay which weighs around 1 kilogram each piece. The second story has wooden floors and housed the antique furniture, costumes, books and memorabilia from the past. Noteworthy is the master’s bedroom that displays the collection of “sayas”. A small room found in the residence was used as a chapel whenever Bishop Juan Gorordo visits the house. The chapel displays a “pasyon” manuscript in Cebuano.

Colon Street
Colon Street is considered as the first and oldest street in the Philippines. It is located in downtown area of Cebu City, Cebu and has been the witness of so many events that happened during the Spanish settlement. It was named after Cristopher Columbus, a navigator, colonizer, and explorer from Genoa, Italy. It is still one of the most crowded parts of Cebu. It is an area with a wide variety of commercial sites, such as shopping malls, restaurants, fashion shops and movie theaters. Most of the jeepneys coming from different barangays in Cebu City usually pass by Colon Street which sometimes makes a clogged up traffic.

Museo Sugbo
Museo Sugbo is located in M.J. Cuenco Avenue in the old Spanish-era area of Cebu named Tejero. It was once the home of the world famous, YouTube sensation Cebu Dancing Inmates – theCebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center or CPDRC. Museo Sugbo is about 2 kilometers away from Fort San Pedro and Plaza Independencia. It used to be named Carcel de Cebu which means Provincial Jail of Cebu before it became a Museum. It was designed by Domingo de Escondrillas on 1869 and he was the only architect inCebu during that time. At first the Carcel de Cebu was proposed to become the Carcel de Distritowhich means jail in the district of Visayas because of its large size at the time it was constructed. After several reviews and endorsements in Manila, the project was approved and set out at around 1871. It was believed that a lot of coral stones from Parian Church were used to build parts of the prison. After 20 years of use, a renovation was ordered and they added more buildings at the back of the main structure which now serves as the first six galleries of Museo Sugbo.
Cebu Zoo
Cebu Zoo -the original zoo in the Queen City of the South was made possible through the creative ideas and conception by one of Cebu's official in the name of Raymundo Crystal. Crystal perceived the idea to have an official zoo in the city of Cebu in the 50's. A venue of the zoo was not still realized until the Cebu provincial government headed by governor Francisco Remotigue donated lot 1298 of Barangay Kalunasan,Cebu City with an area 222,110 square meters to the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP) on October 14, 1963. It was only on 1969 that the Cebu provincial government under Governor Espina set aside a portion of this land (which is situated above the Beverly Hills Residential area at the top of the Capitol Hills) with an area of 70,000 square meters or 7 hectares for a city zoo.It is located on Beverly Hills in Cebu City, Philippines.
Fort San Pedro
FORT SAN PEDRO - The smallest, oldest tri-bastion fort in the country. This served as the nucleus of the first Spanish settlement in the Philippines. It has a total inside area of 2,025 sq. meters. The walls are 20 feet high, 8 feet thick and the towers are 30 feet high from the ground level. Work was first started on May 8, 1565 with MIGUEL LOPEZ DE LEGASPI breaking the ground. After the battle of Manila Bay, Commodore George Dewey turned the fort to the local Cebuanos, then it became an American Warwick Barracks during the American Regime which was later converted into classrooms where the Cebuanos received formal education.
During World War II, from 1941 to 1945, it served as fortification for Japanese soldiers, when the battle for liberation was fought, the fort served as an army camp . After 1950, Cebu Garden Club took over and fixed the inner court into a miniature garden. For a couple of years it also housed the Cebu City Zoo. In 1978 to August 15, 1993, it housed the offices of the Department of Tourism and the Philippine Tourism Authority. At present, it is under the care and administration of the PTA and now houses the National Museum that showcases the San Diego shipwreck & Fort San Pedro diggings.
Cathedral Museum of Cebu
The Cathedral Museum of Cebu is a museum in Downtown Cebu City in the Philippines, (re)opened in November 2006. It is the ecclesiastical museum of the Roman CatholicArchdiocese of Cebu. It is situated next to the Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral, and not far from the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño. The museum is under the direction of the Archdiocesan Commission for the Cultural Heritage of the Church, chaired by Msgr. Carlito V. Pono. The head curator is Brian Brigoli, assisted by Louella Eslao and Mary Frances Villacastin-Despi.
Jumalon Butterfly Sanctuary
Jumalon Museum, Butterfly Sanctuary and Art Gallery is a private museum, art gallery and nature reserve run by the Jumalon Foundation. It is located in Julian N. Jumalon St. (former Macopa St.) Basak, Pardo, Cebu City, Philippines. Inside the compound is a salon and garden. The garden is a collection of a hundred butterfly food plant species. Among these plants flutters around 50 local and foreign species of butterflies. Some rare species are hatched in captivity and later released.
Marcelo Fernan Bridge
This bridge connects the main island of Cebu to the Island of Mactan. Built with the help of the Japanese government,this bridge was opened for operation in August 1999. This has now become a very great help to travelers from Cebu City to Mactan and vice versa. It also caused a faster transaction of business to both islands. The purpose of building this bridge is to minimize the traffic from the Old Bridge. It is now considered to be one of the longest and widest bridges in the Philippines.
Magellan's Cross
Magellan's Cross is a Christian cross planted by Portuguese, and Spanish explorers as ordered by Ferdinand Magellan upon arriving inCebu in the Philippines on (depending on source) April 14 or 21, 1521.is cross is housed in a chapel next to the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño on Magallanes Street (Magallanes being the Spanish name of Magellan), just in front of the city center of Cebu City. A sign below the cross describes the original cross is encased inside the wooden cross that is found in the center of the chapel. This is to protect the original cross from people who chipped away parts of the cross for souvenir purposes or in the belief that the cross possesses miraculous powers

Mountain View Nature s Park
Mountain View Nature’s Park is located at Roosevelt Rd., Sitio Garaje, Brgy. Busay. To go there, you can ride a motorcycle (habal-habal) from JY Sqaure Lahug. The fare is usually 25 to 30 pesos per person. Be careful with drivers who charge higher fares. You can also get the mobile number of the motorcycle driver so he could fetch you when you’re going home. Or alternatively, you can also avail of their transportation services.
Cebu Heritage Monument
HERITAGE OF CEBU MONUMENT - located on the original Plaza Parian, the Heritage of Cebu Monument showcases the significant and symbolic events in the history of Cebu from the time of Rajah Humabon to the recent beatification of Cebuano martyr Pedro Calungsod. The monumental sculptural tableau is the work of national artist Edgardo Castrillo. Construction began on July 1997 and inaugurated in Dec. 8, 2000.
